Peter Houstle, CEO of Mariner Management, an association management firm, will serve as interim Executive Director for the Professional Recyclers of PA.
Houstle provides professional knowledge and experience in organizational management honed through 35 years in membership organizations as well as nine years as executive director of the Maryland Recycling Network.
Houstle is also an active participant in the Recycling Organizational Council of the National Recycling Coalition.
"I am excited to be joining the staff and working with board of PROP especially as they have renewed their commitment to provide the highest quality educational and networking opportunities to Pennsylvania's recycling professionals," offered Houstle. "With an equal commitment to implement a more streamlined and evidence-based decision-making process, PROP can deliver on its mission."
In selecting Houstle, Brenda Schmidt, PROP President, noted "Mr. Houstle has been responsive to the needs of the PROP organization, we anticipate laying a firm foundation for PROP's future in the Pennsylvania recycling community."
At its June meeting, the PROP Board of Directors also adopted a new strategic plan focused on mission and members and retained Mariner Management to help guide PROP in the implementation of that plan.
Both decisions resulted from the PROP Board's deliberations on how to best serve PROP's membership while meeting the mission and simultaneously bringing significant association management experience to the organization.
