The Sustainable Energy Fund invites not-for-profit and governmental entities in Pennsylvania to apply for a loans at two percent interest to complete energy efficiency or renewable energy projects. The deadline for applications is January 29.
Projects must reduce energy consumption of non-sustainable resources or generate energy from sustainable resources. Total available funding through the Sustainable Energy Finance Program is $500,000 with funding ranging from $5,000 to $100,000. Funds will be distributed on a first-come, first-serve basis.
Projects may include solar photovoltaic, lighting retrofits, HVAC upgrades and building envelope improvements, among others.
"The Sustainable Energy Finance Program creates a low-cost opportunity for not-for-profits to reduce their energy consumption and reclaim those dollars in support of their programs," commented John Costlow, President/CEO, in making the announcement, "every dollar a not-for-profit or governmental organization saves on energy is one more dollar they have to further their mission."
