Keep Pennsylvania Beautiful Thursday urged Pennsylvanians to become involved in America Recycles Day on November 15 to celebrate the contributions recycling makes to protecting our environment and to help raise awareness about the value of reducing, reusing and recycling – every day – throughout the year.
This year’s America Recycles Day theme, “I Want To Be Recycled,” helps to educate people about the importance of recycling to our economy and environmental well-being and helps to motivate occasional recyclers to become everyday recyclers.
“Recycling plays an important role in the overall well-being of our environment and economy. Whether you choose to educate students or encourage your community members to recycle, all Pennsylvanian’s can play a part in America Recycles Day,” said Shannon Reiter, President of Keep Pennsylvania Beautiful.
KPB invites residents to organize America Recycles Day events in their local communities and register those events through the America Recycles Day website.
Resources designed to help organize events, such as best practices guides for hosting events, activity ideas, downloadable posters and banners, media outreach tools and sample proclamations are available at the America Recycles Day website.
Events can be scheduled any time during the fall, but should be held as close to November 15 as possible.
