The Sustainable Forestry Initiative, Inc. Program Manager serves as the face of the SFI program in Pennsylvania, representing and promoting the program to various stakeholder groups and the general public.
Primary responsibilities include coordinating and conducting logger training programs; maintaining accurate records for logger training participants; implementing landowner outreach activities; and securing the financial support from industry and other entities.
The SFI Program Manager must be self-motivated and demonstrate the ability to operate independently. The Program Manager will report to the SFI State Implementation Committee. The position requires in-state travel, including occasional overnight travel.
Preferred candidates will have strong oral presentation and written communication skills, organizational skills, the ability to multi-task and a desire to educate others. Experience in the use of MS Access, Excel and PowerPoint experience is necessary. A degree or experience in forestry, natural resources, logging or wood products is desired.
Job responsibilities will involve in-state travel for logger training, State Implementation Committee meetings, visits to industry supporters and other outreach activities. Some overnight travel will be required.
The PA Sustainable Forestry Initiative State Implementation Committee is a non-board committee of the Pennsylvania Forest Products Association and the Program Manager is an employee of PFPA.
This is a full-time salaried position. Salary based on background/experience. Benefits include health insurance, retirement plan, home office compensation, travel reimbursement, paid vacation, holidays and sick leave.
