Gov. Corbett told the PA State Association of Township Commissioner today he would likely veto any budget bill including a natural gas drilling tax or impact fees saying he would like to give the Marcellus Shale Advisory Commission a chance to complete its work. The deadline for the Commission report is now July 22.
The Governor also said it is more important for the state General Fund budget to be at or under the $27.3 billion spending ceiling than for the budget to be finished by the June 30 deadline.
He also said it is likely the Commission would recommend developing a model ordinance for regulating natural gas drilling.
