House Majority Leader Todd Eachus (D-Luzerne) announced on the floor of the House there are no further House voting session days set between now and the November 2 election in spite of a number of outstanding issues still being discussed with the Senate including a Marcellus Shale natural gas severance tax, pension reform and an independent fiscal office.
The House this week also attempted to move a transportation funding proposal, but failed to muster the votes needed to report legislation out of the House Appropriations Committee.
The Senate returns to voting session next week for three days-- October 12, 13, 14-- and then will adjourn for the year. Any legislation not given final action next week by the Senate will die and have to be reintroduced in the new legislative session.
The House is scheduled to return to voting session on November 8.
