Nominations are now being accepted for Wildlands Conservancy’s Friend of the Lehigh River Award given annually to acknowledge individuals, groups, organizations, businesses, institutions, or governmental bodies who deserve recognition for their commitment to preserving, protecting, restoring, and enhancing the Lehigh River and its watershed. The deadline for nominations is May 7.
Nominations can be submitted by a one-page summary of the nominee’s accomplishments and justification for receiving the award. Contact information of the nominee and the group or individual making the nomination should be included.
Last year’s Friend of the Lehigh River Award winners were: Monroe County Open Space Program; the late Ted Miller, found member of the Lehigh River Stocking Association; Ron Horiszny, Wildlands Conservancy Bike & Boat program volunteer.
This year’s award winners will be announced during the closing ceremonies of Wildlands Conservancy’s Lehigh River Sojourn event on June 28.
