Larry Myers retired today as Executive Director of the Pennsylvania Resources Council, trading in his lap top computer and calculator for a fly rod and trip tickets.
Bob Jondreau will replace Larry as PRC's Executive Director beginning February 1. Bob has been the President of PRC's Board of Directors for the past 3 years.
Diane "Dee" Alwine from The Hershey Company has been a board member for many years and will replace Bob as President of the Board.
Larry has provided leadership and financial stewardship to the 70 year-old environmental non-profit for the past seven years. The organization has made great strides in program and resource management during Larry's tenure.
Larry shared with PRC's newsletter editor, "it is gratifying to know that over just the past seven years PRC has reached out to over 100,000 students with our natural resource conservation message through classroom programs, assemblies and fieldtrips. Some of those students will be our future environmental stewards and leaders. It has been exciting to be part of an organization with such passion and vision for conserving our environment! I wish all of the staff, Board of Directors, members, partners and funders continued success!"
Bob Jondreau
Bob Jondreau has served on PRC's Board of Directors for over 13 years. He chaired many committees and task forces, and for the past three years he served as Board President.
Bob holds a BS degree from Rutgers University. He began his career in the rubber manufacturing industry. In 2009 Bob left UNISYS to pursue other ventures, while maintaining his position as PRC's Board President.
Bob's primary goals for PRC are to help implement a sustainable financial and program strategy for the future, while maintaining the current solid base of programs and funding, and to complete the capital campaign at PRC's headquarters in Ridley Creek State Park.
In Bob's own words "I hope to finish many of the projects that were started at this great facility in 2009. It has been a long term goal of the Board to get the facility in top physical shape, and I hope to play a major role in this effort, along with the staff of the eastern office.
