Senate Positions House Budget Bill For Vote

House Bill 1416, the House Democratic budget, was reported out of the Senate Appropriations Committee unanimously with a negative recommendation and will receive Second Consideration in token session on Sunday. The Senate is expected to debate and amend the bill during session on Monday.
Senate Majority Leader Dominic Pileggi (R-Delaware) said the House Democrat budget did not advance the budget negotiations because it does not deal with $1.2 billion in higher education funding.
