Penn State Extension will host a
9-part Woods In Your Backyard Webinar series starting January 27 and running through March 24.

Landowners, of even just a few acres, can learn how to positively influence the environment by implementing simple stewardship practices.

The one-hour webinars are scheduled for--

-- January 27;

-- February 3, 10, 17 and 24

-- March 3, 10, 17 and 24

Topics to be covered include: Habitats for Wildlife; Tree and Shrub Identification; Tree Planting; Woods and Water Quality; Forest Ecology; Woodlot Management Techniques; Invasive Plant Identification/Control; and Creating Wildflower Meadows.

The manual used for this workshop, The Woods in Your Backyard: Learning to Create and Enhance Natural Areas Around Your Home, is a self-directed book. It will guide participants through the process of developing and implementing projects to enhance their land’s natural resources.

Each participant will receive a complimentary, full color, 108-page copy of The Woods in Your Backyard manual (a $29 value).

You should attend if you own land that is wooded, have natural areas, are interested in creating new natural areas, and you would like to create wildlife habitat, improve water quality, and enhance aesthetics.

Credits are available for ISA Certified Arborist CEUs and Landscape Architecture CEUs.  Certificates of attendance are also available upon request.
