A Tiny Forest is a dense, fast-growing native woodland about the size of a tennis court. These forests provide great homes for butterflies, birds, bees, and other wildlife, and offer people a place to connect with and learn about nature.
They are becoming an international tool to combat climate change.
These super tiny, super powerful forests mimic the features of a traditional forest in a small space. With a mix of native trees, they create a wildlife-rich environment over time.
You don’t need huge amounts of space to plant them; they can be established anywhere land is available – in a park, at a school, next to a road, or on a brownfield site.
Tiny Forests bring the benefits of woodland into the heart of our cities and urban spaces, connecting people with nature, helping to mitigate climate change, and providing nature-rich habitats.
The webinar instructor is Amy Kwasnicki, Master Gardener Coordinator in Bucks County.
