PA GreenGov Council Launches PA Climate Change Mitigation & Resilience Network

The
Pennsylvania GreenGov Council recently launched the PA Climate Change Mitigation and Resilience Network to promote climate problem solving and human-centered solutions for Pennsylvania.

The Network is a group of professionals working together to identify solutions and educate leaders with the goal to reduce harmful greenhouse gas emissions and to improve resilience to climate-related hazards while advancing Pennsylvania's preparedness, economic vitality, public health, and social equity.

The Network strives to be a self-sustaining, member-driven organization that connects and educates diverse stakeholders across Pennsylvania, ensuring they have the expertise, knowledge, and collaborative partnerships to advance informed climate solutions.

One key component of the PA Climate Network is our updated climate training program, which will provide foundational knowledge about climate science, climate impacts and climate resilience opportunities in Pennsylvania, and actions, strategies, and resources various actors can use to take climate action.

An initial listing of some Network Climate Best Practices is now available from a variety of state agencies.

An initial Network training module on the Fundamentals of Climate Science is also available.

For more information, visit the PA Climate Change Mitigation and Resilience Network webpage or send an email to: ra-epclimatenetwork@pa.gov

Also visit DEP’s Local Climate Action Program webpage for free technical and personnel assistance to local governments that want to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
