The PA Section - American Water Resources Association will hold its Annual Conference and Meeting: Managing Stormwater - Applied Urban and Suburban Best Practices on June 6 in Lancaster.
The Conference will open with a presentation by Ruth Hocker giving an overview of the City of Lancaster's green infrastructure approach to stormwater management and a walking tour of stormwater management practices in the City.
A brief summary of each project will be given at each stop during the tour, as well as relevant details related to planning, design, construction, and maintenance.
At the Crystal Park site, the discussion will touch on retrofits to the stormwater management practices employed in response to maintenance constrictions and performance issues.
The agenda also includes these speakers--
-- Phil Pickering, Philadelphia Water Department, on their stormwater incentives program; and
-- Jeremy Miller, on implementation of stormwater fees in Hampden Township, Cumberland County.
There will be several opportunities for networking during the day-long Conference.
The Conference will be held at the Lancaster Chamber, 115 East King Street in Lancaster from 8:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
The Conference also provides 4 PDH for professional engineers. Certificates will be provided upon request.
There is a $30 registration fee. The Conference fee includes conference registration, stormwater BMP walking tour, lunch, and membership in PA-AWRA for 2019.
