Raccoon Creek Watershed Put On PA Rivers Conservation Registry

The Department of Conservation and Natural Resources has approved the Raccoon Creek Region Conservation Plan and is placing the Raccoon Creek Watershed in Allegheny, Beaver and Washington counties on the PA Rivers Conservation Registry.  (formal notice)
The Washington County Conservation District submitted the Plan and other required information to gain Registry status.
This action becomes effective August 13, 2016. Projects submitted to DCNR, which are identified as part of the Plan will be given the highest consideration for implementation, development or acquisition grant funding through the Program.
There are now 108 watersheds on the PA Rivers Conservation Registry (see map).
A copy of the Conservation Plan is available online.  Questions should be directed to  Kelly Rossiter at 717-772-3319.
